Upholstery in Process

Era’s upholstery workroom has operated alongside the millwork shop for three generations — producing custom seating, drapery, headboards, and architectural soft furnishings for private residences across New York. Work from this workroom has been placed in significant private collections and has appeared in published interiors. These photographs document fabrication in progress: frames being built, fabrics cut, pieces assembled before delivery. The photographs here document work spanning more than fifteen years — frames under construction, fabric being cut, pieces assembled before delivery to residences across New York. Some work documented here has passed through private sales and appeared at auction.
